Alinaghi Mashayekhi is a professor at Sharif University of Technology’s school of Management and Economics. He was also the founder of Sharif University of Technology’s school of Management and Economics.
Prof. Mashayekhi graduated in mechanical engineering from Sharif University of Technology (SUT). He spent three years as teaching assistant at SUT before moving to the USA to get receive his Ph.D. in Management from MIT. Afterwards, he started working as an associate professor at MIT. In 1978, Dr. Alinaghi Mashayekhi left MIT behind and returned to Iran. This was the beginning of his most important innovative activities in Iran such as: Establishing Industrial Engineering and Master’s of Social and Economic Systems Engineering as new majors, establishing Institute of Education and Research in Planning and Development, consultant to various ministries of Iran and establishing the Faculty of Management and Economics in SUT.
